Here's my advice when making, having and keeping friends. When you try to MAKE a friend, don't look around for anyone. Find the true soulmate JUST for you, when you know that they are...
- Kind
- Loyal
- Truthful
- You are sure they will never make fun of you
- Always smiles when you two are together
- Has always something to talk about
And so on. But also, it is important that you do not disturb other friendships when trying to do this. Try to make friends with others who are new, but do not overwhelm them. Make friends with people who don't have friends, and need them, because everyone does, in their own ways.
When you HAVE a friend, make sure not to be mean, backstab them, betray them, or spread rumors. These can all be harmful to the relationship you are having with a great friend. Make sure when having a friend, you are always aware that you should, at least sometimes, appreciate them. With a card, just words, body language, email, whichever one is good for them and for you. Mark my words, they will thank you for it.
To KEEP friends, you must give them the space they need, and be open to talk when they need you, unless you are really busy. Do not dump a friend to be with someone else, try to play along together. Introduce each other. Who knows? Maybe you can be a threesome.
